Dunphy returns

Controversial journalist and broadcaster Eamon Dunphy is returning to radio this autumn to present the breakfast show on Dublin station NewsTalk 106.

A deal reportedly signed between Dunphy and the all-talk station will see him back on the air for the first time since resigning from Today FM’s Last Word show in 2002. His new programme will bring Dunphy into direct competition with the highly rated RTE Radio One show Morning Ireland.

The signing of the highly popular presenter is regarded as a major boost for NewsTalk, which last April recorded a substantial rise in listenership in the Dublin area.
