Gillian Rodgerson, editor of lesbian lifestyle magazine Diva, is leaving to go back to her native Canada.
Rodgerson has edited Diva for six years and was instrumental in its relaunch, which included extra pages and a change in frequency from bimonthly to monthly.
The revamp took the pagination up to 100 and the title also changed to full colour throughout.
Citing “family reasons” for her departure, Rodgerson has agreed to stay on until a new editor is found. “I still love London. It’s been a lot of fun. It’s the best job in the world,” she said.
She joined Diva in February 1997 and was previously editor of the London weekly free paper Capital Gay. She continues to contribute to Diva’s “big brother”, Gay Times.
