Elayne DeLaurian has resigned as group editor of Bauer's alternative lifestyle titles, Spirit & Destiny and Take a Break's Fate & Fortune.
DeLaurian had previously edited News International's Know Your Destiny under Judy McGuire, and was deputy editor at Best under Louise Court when the title was owned by Gruner + Jahr.
She approached Bauer with the idea for the two titles after Know Your Destiny closed in 2001 and within three months Fate & Fortune was launched, with Spirit & Destiny going on sale nine months later.
On her plans for the future, DeLaurian said: "I'm definitely staying in journalism, planning on doing some freelance consultancy work — and some writing again, as I've missed it — while I consider which direction I want to take next."
She added: "It's been a brilliant, exciting time driving the two titles to success, carving out a new section of the women's market. I'm proud of what we've achieved and though I feel sad to be leaving behind two great magazines and a fantastic team, now I want to move on to new challenges."
