Dennis Publishing this week launched computing title Custom PC.
The monthly is aimed at men aged 18 to 35 and is backed by a seven-figure sum. According to Dennis, there is a growing number of PC enthusiasts with a passion for performance hardware and customisation, who are being ignored by the magazines currently available.
Publisher Pete Wootton said the response to the launch so far had been positive, with advertising revenue up 42 per cent on pre-launch expectations and 2,000 subscribers on board before the first issue had even reached the news-stand.
Gareth Ogden, former technical editor on PC Pro, is associate editor and responsible for the day-to-day editing. James Gorbold is in charge of the reviews and lab tests as technical editor and Josh Blodwell and Alex Watson are on board as staff writers.
