Magazine publisher Felix Dennis has moved up from eighth to sixth in the Birminghan Post’s annual league table of rich Midlanders.
The fifth annual Midlands Rich List estimates the wealth of the Dennis Publishing chairman at £495m, up from £225m last year.
The supplement had Stoke-based Phones4U-founder John Caudwell at number one with assets estimated at £1.38bn.
In second spot was Viscount Portman and family, whose £1.1bn fortune derives from 100 acres of prime property in central London.
Birmingham Post editor Fiona Alexander said: “We are, once again, proud to be able to deliver a comprehensive guide to the hard-earned wealth enjoyed by movers and shakers across the Midlands. It’s a must-read for anyone in business.”
The list was compiled by journalist Cheryl Cole and used identifiable assets and values already published, land values and the value of shareholdings.
