Reporter for the Orkney Today newspaper, Craig Taylor, has swapped the Mars bars, crisps and Coke littering his desk for fruit and water, in preparation for running a half marathon for charity.
Taylor will be taking part in the Bisgeos 12 miler on 30 August in Westray, Orkney, raising money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
This is the third year Taylor has taken part, having previously raised £500 for both the Orkney Kidney Patients Association and then the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Taylor, who is also president of the Kirkwall District Darts League, said: ‘I have even managed to go without my regular pints of lager for a month to get in shape for the run, which means the darts have been gathering dust at home!”
