Former chief operating officer at Yattendon Group Lisa Gordon has been made corporate development director at regional press publisher Local World.

The group, formed out of a merger of Northcliffe and Yattendon-owned Iliffe Media, has ambition plans to transform the fortune of the reginal press through more reader-generated content.

Here is the Local World announcement:

Lisa Gordon has joined Local World as Corporate Development Director, a move from her current role as Non-Executive Director at the company, which she has held since the company’s creation in late 2012. She will remain on the group Board in her new executive role.

Lisa’s responsibilities include transformation, strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions and marketing. Most recently Lisa held the role of Chief Operating Officer at privately owned Yattendon Group where she delivered a new management structure and several acquisitions and was instrumental in the deal to create Local World through the merger of the Iliffe Media assets with Northcliffe Media.

She served as a Non-Executive Director for specialist magazine publisher Future Plc during a transformational change programme and was Corporate Development Director for Chrysalis Group Plc where her focus was on moving beyond the company’s core music business into other media, including radio and television.

Lisa said: “Throughout the months putting this deal together during 2012 I believed we had an opportunity in Local World to create a regional media business with an exciting future. Seven months since its launch I now believe in that even more strongly and I’m delighted to be part of the team.”

Steve Auckland, Local World Group CEO said: “Lisa played an integral role in the creation of Local World and was instrumental in creating the vision for the new company. She will now actively be able to bring this to fruition and ensure Local World leads the transformation of the regional media industry.”
