Emap makes two new senior appointments and reports 4 per cent rise in revenue

B2B media company Emap has made two new appointments to its senior management team and reported a 4 per cent growth in revenue in 2012.

Ben Greenish joins EMAP as interim managing director of the construction and engineering portfolio, which includes Construction News, New Civil Engineer, Ground Engineering, Heating & Ventilation News and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.

Greenish was previously MD of the construction group and left EMAP five years ago. In the intervening years he has been MD of Spectator Magazines.

He commented:

I am really excited about working with EMAP again as it is a very different business from the one I left nearly 5 years ago. I hope my time here can accelerate the very different and really strong position the division and brands are in now. I will be able to focus on the core objectives and help shape the team and business for the future.

Robert Brighouse has been appointed interim managing director for the Architecture group, which incorporates Architects’ Journal and Architectural Review.

Brighouse began his career in sales and has held senior roles at VNU and Dennis Publishing. Most recently he was a board director at RBI, where he was responsible for a broad portfolio of B2B media as well as the sales operation.

He said:

I am delighted to be working at EMAP particularly on the Architecture portfolio where the opportunity for growth is exciting. I look forward to joining a passionate and talented team."

EMAP chief executive Natasha Christie-Miller said:

These appointments have been made to ensure that the EMAP brands receive the best support and focus to help them thrive and grow the EMAP business.

I’m delighted to welcome them both – and in Ben’s case welcome him back - to the team. I believe they are the right people to help us deliver the best from our world-class brands, at a crucial time of transformation and growth for us, and I very much look forward to working with them both.

Last March the company changed its name to Top Right Group while retaining the name Emap for the B2B publishing side of the business.

Emap makes up around 18 per cent of total turnover at TRG. The company announced Emap's revenue was up 4 per cent last year.
