HQ & District Senior Communications Officer – Grade SG2 – £30k – £33k
A vacancy has arisen in the Communications & Public Affairs Department for the post of District Communications Officer based at Lincoln and HQ. The role involves contributing to the development and delivery of quality communications in the areas of media relations, public engagement and relations and press office and internal communications functions. The postholder will provide vital professional support to policing operations in the City and West of the County.
The post holder will be required to contribute to high level operational meetings within the specialism and ensure that key messages to the media, force personnel and stakeholders are communicated in the most efficient way. He or she will also need an excellent working knowledge of social media and have the ability to advise senior police commanders and senior support staff on multi-media communications strategies across multiple platforms..
Ideally candidates will be educated to degree level or have an equivalent qualification or experience in media or public relations. As well as having experience in a similar role the candidate will be able to provide evidence of the delivery of all the above disciplines.
You will already have an innate sense of how to reach our many audiences with the right message, at the right time, using the right channel. You will be politically astute and bring an ability to understand the big picture and how it impacts on Lincolnshire at a time of significant reform and challenge for the police service.
