CNN has appointed a Londonbased anchor and correspondent as part of an expansion of its international newsgathering operations, writes Wale Azeez.
Andrea Sanke will join the network as a news and business anchor from German channel Deutsche Welle TV in July.
Paula Hancocks, above, a reporter and producer just back from a stint in Israel where she covered the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and in particular the assassination of Hamas leader Sheikh Yassin, also joins the London bureau. She has been promoted to the new role of digital newsgathering video correspondent. Hancocks joined CNN six years ago as an intern.
A further three appointments are earmarked for Turkey, Bangkok and Atlanta.
