Closure of H&F News marks victory over 'town hall Pravdas'

Fortnightly council-run newspaper the H&F News is to close next year, Holdthefrontpage reports.

The move is a victory for the Trinity Mirror-owned Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle and for trade body the Newspaper Society which has been campaigning against council-owned newspapers. Such titles have been condemned as ‘town hall Pravdas’ and compete for advertising with independent newspapers, the NS argues.
