Future Publishing has appointed Chris Barnes as the new editor of its monthly drumming magazine, Rhythm.
Barnes, who joined Rhythm in 2004 as a staff writer, will report directly to the magazine’s associate publisher, Rob Last.
He takes the helm at the music magazine after being appointed deputy editor in 2008. This followed his appointment as features editor in 2006.
He replaces former editor Phil Ascott who left after holding the role for three years.

Future said Ascott was intending to return to further education while pursuing some freelance opportunities.
