Charles and Camilla visit 150-year-old newspapers

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall have paid a visit to three Tindle-owned West Country newspapers celebrating their 150th anniversaries.

Charles and Camilla unveiled three plaques to mark the anniversaries of the Tavistock Times Gazette in Devon, the Cornish Times in Liskeard, and the Cornish and Devon Post in Launceston.

All three were launched within a few months of each other.

Sir Ray Tindle, chairman of Tindle Newspapers, welcomed the royal visitors before managing director Brian Doel and Tavistock general manager Lyn Roberts gave them a tour of the business.

Before unveiling the plaques Charles made a short speech about the importance of local media in raising awareness of conservation issues.
