More4 News will air each night at 8pm on the new
free-to-air digital channel from Channel 4. According to Channel Four, the half-hour programme
will combine news with a forum for a range of perspectives and opinions.

Smith has worked for Channel 4 News since 1998,
and reported major stories such as last year’s US presidential
elections and the European constitution referendums crisis earlier this
year. Deputy editor of the BBC One’s 6pm news, Will Thorne, will be
joining the Channel 4 News to lead the More4 News team.
