Burrowes in Sydney switch to RBI media

By Press Gazette

Tim Burrowes, launch editor of Campaign Middle East, has been appointed group editor of Reed Business Information's Australian media titles, based in Sydney.

Burrowes, who left Campaign Middle East in August, will oversee three titles in the group — a weekly called B&T which covers the advertising and media market and two monthly titles, Broadcast Engineering News and Encore, the B2B for the Australian film and TV industry.

He will report to Martin Lane, now publisher of the media, travel and hospitality group at Reed and an ex-Travel Weekly editor.

Burrowes said that the challenges in Australia would be similar to those he experienced when at the helm at Campaign Middle East.

He said: "Campaign Middle East was a really interesting experience of going into a brand new market and knowing the subject matter somewhat, but not the contacts in that particular market.

"The big thing I learned there was to not go in thinking you know everything, but to rely on your colleagues on the ground to help you get to know the market, so that's certainly what I will be doing in Sydney."
