Burley to cover for Five’s Young

By Press Gazette

Sky TV presenter Kay Burley is to anchor Five News over the summer while Kirsty Young is on maternity leave.

Burley will present Five’s flagship 5.30pm news broadcast and continue to present the lunchtime bulletin on Sky News.

She said: “What a treat. I’m very lucky. Not only am I able to carry on with my Lunchtime Live programme, but I’m also very much looking forward to meeting a whole new group of viewers on Five News.” Five News editor Mark Calvert said: “Kay is one of the best presenters in the business, and will bring a wealth of experience and great authority to Five News.” Burley has previously worked as a reporter on the Sunday Mirror and as a newsreader on TV-am.
