Deborah Bull has been appointed a governor of the BBC for a four-year term. She replaces Sir Richard Eyre, who left the board in May due to other commitments.
Bull has been an artistic director at the Royal Opera House since 2002. She had a 20-year career as a dancer with the Royal Ballet and has written and produced several programmes for the BBC, including The Dancer’s Body and Law In Order. BBC chairman Gavyn Davies said: “Richard Eyre’s contribution as a governor with impressive creative credentials was always going to be hard to match, but Deborah’s appointment achieves just that.”
