Veteran entertainer Bruce Forsyth has launched a legal battle for libel damages from the publisher of the News of the World.
The Strictly Come Dancing presenter is demanding unlimited damages from News Group Newspapers over a story in the tabloid headed: “Strictly Snobby”.
Forsyth has instructed London-based solicitors Schillings to act for him.
In the writ, seen by Press Gazette, the entertainer says the News of the World story, which was published in January, was defamatory.
He is seeking damages as well as an injunction banning repetition of the allegations at the centre of his claim.
