Archant London editorial director Bob Crawley has been moved to the newly-created role of publishing director at Archant Anglia.
The company confirmed that London managing director Will Hattam will not be replacing Crawley, and that group editors Malcolm Starbrook and Geoff Martin will report directly to Hattam.
The latest editorial shake-up at the company will result in the departure of Chris Moore, who joined Archant in 2011 as commercial director of Archant Norfolk.
Under the new set up, Archant Anglia managing director Johnny Hustler announced that James Gurney – who joined the company in September 2011 as commercial director of Archant Suffolk – will become commercial director for both Norfolk and Suffolk.
Crawley is a former editor of the Norwich Evening News, and the ex-managing director of contract publishing division Archant Dialogue and consumer and lifestyle magazine arm Archant Specialist.
Following the restructure all four daily editors in Archant Anglia will report to him.
The company said Crawley’s brief was to ‘ensure that the Norfolk and Suffolk portfolio continues to please its audience whilst providing commercial clients with exactly the media environment they require”.
He takes up his new role in August 2012. Archant said Gurney’s promotion recognised his record in Suffolk ‘where there has been a turnaround in performance with an especially strong focus on new business growth”.
Commenting on Moore’s departure, Hustler said: ‘I am really sorry to see Chris Moore leave. His family had not moved to Norfolk and a year after being in post he was still commuting from the North East, to where he has decided to return.
‘This has been a challenging time for him and in these difficult circumstances he has done a great job for us.”
