Tim Blott is the new regional managing director of Newsquest Strathclyde, in charge of The Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times.
His appointment follows swiftly on from Newsquest’s completion of its deal for the former SMG titles, taking over the running of the Glasgow-based business on Monday.
Blott became a trainee reporter in 1975, going on to work as a senior journalist at titles now owned by Newsquest at Bradford, Darlington, High Wycombe and Oxford. He was made editor of the Oxford Mail and later promoted to acting managing directo.
He returned to Bradford as MD in 1996 and became regional MD of Lancashire, Bradford and Kendal in 2000. He was appointed to the Newsquest main board in 2001.
Blott has latterly been responsible for Newsquest centres in the North East, York, Bradford and for its digital media operation.
