Big names up for news Emmy

ITN, Sky News and BBC News 24 have been announced as regional semi-finalists in the news categories at the 2006 International Emmy Awards.

Both BBC News 24 and Sky News are nominated in the breaking news category for their coverage of the London bombings on 7 July last year. In the continuing news coverage category, ITV News has been selected for its coverage of the Pakistan earthquake.

The awards gala will take place on 20 November in New York.
