Shame on Evening Standard reporter Oliver Finegold for taking his
personal spat with Ken Livingstone to the Independent Adjudication
Panel for England (whatever that is) after the London Mayor allegedly
likened his behaviour to that of a Nazi concentration camp guard.
Ladies, ladies!
As a journo of more than 40 years’ standing,
I must have been trained on sterner stuff. Many of my older colleagues
feel likewise. We would never have dreamed of running to Big Brother,
whingeing about an insult from some jumped-up bureaucrat.Rather,
Oliver, you should have treated the crass remark with the contempt it
deserved – and made sure it got into a gossip column in one of the
nationals.
That’s the way to pay Ken back.
