TV practical joker Jeremy Beadle is one of the celebrity guests expected at a charity golf day held in aid of NPF – the journalists’ charity.
New NPF vice president Christine Garbutt is running the day and will be partnering Beadle. She has invited bets of £2 to guess the difference between her score and Beadle’s.
Off full handicap, the tournament will be played on Wednesday, 29 September at Elstree Golf Club, teeing off at 10am.
There will be a prize for the longest drive nearest the pin, a ladies’ prize and a prize for best turned out golfer.
A trophy (donated by the late Chris Lander) and a bottle of champagne will be awarded to the winner.
Cost of the day with a three-course lunch, coffee and biscuits on arrival and £5 to the NPF, is £45.
