Martin
Lindsay is the new editor of the Belfast Telegraph, succeeding Ed
Curran, who has been appointed editor-in-chief of Independent News and
Media’s titles in Northern Ireland.
Lindsay is editor of the
Telegraph’s sister Sunday newspaper, the Sunday Life, a post he has
held for 12 years. He was deputy editor of the Belfast Telegraph from
1991 until 1993 and has held several other senior reporting and news
editing posts on the paper.
Lindsay began his career in 1962
with Morton Newspapers. After a short spell with the East Antrim Times,
he joined the Telegraph where he held the posts of chief reporter,
deputy news editor, assistant to the editor and deputy editor, before
his appointment in 1993 as editor of Sunday Life.
