The BBC has launched a paid-for iPad app for its market-leading Good Food magazine.
The magazine division of BBC Worldwide has made the February issue of Good Food, which is on sale now, also available to download from the Apple store.
The iPad issue of the magazine is priced £1.79 as a special introductory offer, rising to £2.99 after an initial trial period.
The printed version of Good Food magazine has a cover price is £3.50.
Good Food is the second BBC title to move into the iPad following the launch of the BBC Focus magazine app in November.
Alfie Lewis, publishing director, said: ‘We think the iPad has great growth potential and we are delighted to launch this product at this early stage in the new technology’s development.
‘This app has functionality at its heart, with the opportunity to create a truly immersive experience for the reader and revolutionise the cooking process.
‘It offers incredible value for money and should be the first app iPad owning cooking fans download.”
The launch of the iPad app follows the launch of several Good Food apps for the iPhone, including healthy recipes, seasonal recipes and quick recipes.
According to the BBC, the new app features a range of new interactive and social elements, including recipes presented as easy-to-view digital ‘cook cards”, cooking technique videos, personalised shopping lists and easy to use search facility.
