The BBC’s magazines division is to spend £500,000 promoting BBC Good Homes magazine in the new year, as part of an overall £12m spend on the mag over five years.
The investment is one of the biggest ever made by BBC Magazines, according to its marketing department.
The cash will be spent on the February and March issues, featuring a campaign called “Transforming Homes”, which will see one reader winning £50,000 to spend on their home under the guidance of a BBC Good Homes magazine stylist.
Hayley Davis, group marketing and strategy manager, said: “This fully integrated campaign is perfect for the new year, when people’s thoughts turn to home decorating-and it reinforces our goal of BBC Good Homes magazine being the number one choice for anyone wanting to improve their home.”
The new-look BBC Good Homes magazine was unveiled last April with an extra 32 editorial pages per issue and additional content on property and decorating. The redesign saw the magazine’s circulation jump 13 per cent to nearly 120,000.
