Associated Press has brought all nonUS television broadcast operations under a new umbrella division called AP International. It will be headed by Ian Ritchie, current chief executive of London-based Associated Press Television News (APTN).
AP International will incorporate APTN with its 80 bureaux across 67 countries.
Ritchie, a former chief executive of Five and APTN’s chief executive since 2000, becomes vice president of global business and managing director of newly formed AP International He will report to John Keitt, senior vice president for global business.
Ritchie has also been chief executive of Middle East Broadcasting and an executive at Granada TV, YorkshireTyne Tees Television, Central Television and London News Network.
