The business manager of world heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis, above, has accepted a public apology and “substantial” damages from the BBC.
Adrian Ogun sued over a radio interview in which boxingpromoter Don King said Ogun had signed “the worst deal ever in the history of boxing” for Lewis.
The interview was on Five Live, and published on the BBC website, in which King criticised the deal in which Lewis was to fight Vitali Klitschko.
Ben Mawson, counsel for the BBC, said: “The BBC accepts that it should not have broadcast Mr King’s views in the manner that it did. It sincerely regrets the broadcast and online reports.”
