The Financial Times has appointed Andrew Hill as City editor and editor of the Lombard column.
Hill was previously financial editor with overall responsibility for coverage of companies and markets. He joined the Financial Times in 1988 and has held various positions including US business editor, foreign news editor, Brussels correspondent and Milan correspondent. He has been an assistant editor since August 2003.
FT editor Lionel Barber said: “I am delighted Andrew has taken on responsibility for Lombard. He brings a breadth of experience and incisive wit to this must- read column.”
Andrew starts his new role in September. Tony Major has moved to the role of financial news editor, he was previously an assistant news editor.
