Amnesty International is inviting entries for its 14th annual media
awards, which recognise contributions to greater understanding of human
rights issues through journalism.
Categories include: television documentaries, radio, national newspapers, nations and regions, periodicals and photojournalism.
This
is the second year that an award will be given in honour of Gaby Rado
who died in Iraq in 2003. The award recognises an up-and-coming
journalist who has been covering human rights stories for no more than
five years.
The closing date for this year’s entries is Friday 29
April, and work must have been produced between 20 February 2004 and 28
April this year.
