A ten-part series of BBC Four’s media magazine show The Desk , presented by Wallpaper founder Tyler Brûle´, will begin on 18 January.
BBC Four claims the programme will deliver a fresh take on any and every aspect of the media world.
The Desk , produced by Winkontent and Moonbeam Films, will be filmed on location and in the studio.
It will have a mix of feature interviews, authored films and behind-the-scenes insight – from media manipulation to editors’ musical chairs in New York.
Following the media theme in the new year, BBC Four will be broadcasting an interactive television event, TV On Trial .
The programme will invite viewers, critics, commentators and media pundits to take part in a major interactive event to debate when British TV enjoyed its Golden Age.
Travelling further a field, documentary Baghdad Or Bust follows the experiences of Ken O’Keefe, a former US marine, who led 60 volunteers in three double-decker buses on a 3,000-mile journey from London to Baghdad.
` BBC Three has a cluster of documentaries at the heart of its schedule for this winter.
The channel has commissioned six film-makers who are new to television to tell their own personal stories.
Other documentaries include Midwives; Country Life, which looks at the realities of UK rural living for the dispossessed; and 18 with a Bullet, which follows the 18th Street Gang members of San Salvador.
