13 new journalism jobs today

The Press and Journal newspaper in Scotland, published by Aberdeen Journals Limited, is seeking a senior reporter to be based at its office in Forfar, in the heart of Angus. Closing date: 18 September.

The South Wales Evening Post, a part of Northcliffe Media, is looking for a court reporter who will cover Swansea’s magistrates courts and occasionally cover crown court as well. NCTJ-qualified seniors are preferred. Closing date: 18 September

A company in Reigate requires a maritime editor (£26,000 – £30,000 per annum). The responsibilities include writing, editing and proofing information, sourcing data and liaising with contacts. Only candidates with years at sea with cargo handling experience will be considered.

Archant London is looking for junior reporters, senior reporters and a subeditor for its publications in London.

A provider of data and news on the bonds markets is looking for fixed income / derivatives reporter. This is a role that would suit a journalist with knowledge of the capital markets, bonds in particular, with about 1-3 years experience.

An educational publisher, with offices in Hampshire, is looking to appoint an assistant editor. The candidate will create and produce indexes and metadata about current affairs from selected media.

An organisation providing educational support to local authorities and schools is looking for a production editor on a fixed term six month contract initially, to end in March 2010. Based in Reading, the successful candidate will be adept at briefing and managing editors, proofreaders and designers and will ideally have some multimedia experience.

A publisher of men’s lifestyle magazine is looking for an editor/features writer (£22,500) who is fluent in Cantonese. The successful candidate will have to provide editorial content and organizational support to a group of men’s lifestyle magazines. The position is based in south-west London.

International film trade publication Screen International is looking for head of news, to work across the print magazine as well as sister website ScreenDaily.com in London. Job duties include coordinating and editing all news coverage in print and online, both breaking news and in-depth analysis. Closing date: October 13.

An ecommerce business is looking for content editors (£20-24K). The successful candidate will be involved in the building of new ecommerce website content and should have both creative and technical understanding. The company wants an academic, intelligent graduate who is highly motivated about web and online world.
